session-rename # session-rename Keep Pi sessions easy to recognize with short names based on their work. ## Use it in Pi Nothing to invoke for automatic names. After meaningful conversation and agent activity, Pi uses current model to suggest a one to three word session name. It waits for Pi to become idle, then refines names as work changes without replacing a name you set yourself. Run `/session-rename` to request a naming pass now. Run `/session-rename fix auth flow` to set that exact name and keep automatic renaming off for this session. Automatic naming needs a selected model with available credentials. Change idle delay with Pi settings when useful: ```json { "session-rename": { "idleDelayMs": 5000 } } ``` Set `PI_SESSION_RENAME_IDLE_DELAY_MS=5000` for an environment-specific delay. Restart Pi after changing settings. Install through [Installation](../../README.md#install). ## Reference ### Commands | Command | Purpose | | --- | --- | | `/session-rename` | Generate/refine session name, or set exact name with args | ### Setting names | Setting | Environment | | --- | --- | | `session-rename.idleDelayMs` | `PI_SESSION_RENAME_IDLE_DELAY_MS` | [Changelog](./CHANGELOG.md).
