continuity

Continues the current Pi task after context compaction.

Install / load

Loaded through the root pi-ext package. See ../../README.md.

Commands / tools / settings

No commands, tools, or settings.

Pi hooks:

  • session_compact schedules continuation after successful compaction.
  • agent_start cancels stale scheduled continuation when another run takes over.
  • session_shutdown clears scheduled continuation.

Behavior

Continuity sends one hidden follow-up after manual, threshold, or non-retrying overflow compaction. The follow-up recovers user intent from Pi's compaction summary and current worktree first. It points at persisted active-branch history only as fallback when recovered intent remains unclear. It continues actionable work, but stops when intent is satisfied or all remaining work is blocked. It must not rerun completed checks, retry known blockers, or invent follow-up work.

Pi's own overflow retry wins. Existing queued messages win. Active /goal continuation capability wins. Session replacement and shutdown cancel stale delivery.

Debug

Opt in through debug logging. Safe events: session.start, session.shutdown, and continuation with scheduled, sent, skipped, cancelled, or failed outcome classification.
